Dr. Patrick Barousse is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialist practicing at North Oaks Orthopedic Specialty Center in Hammond, Louisiana. He earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport and a Master of Public Health from Tulane University, then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of South Alabama and a foot and ankle fellowship split between UC Davis and Reno Orthopedics.

Dr. Barousse believes surgery should be a conversation, not a mandate. He works with each patient to match the right treatment to their specific goals and lifestyle — recommending surgery strongly when it's the best path forward, but always leaving the decision in the patient's hands. When surgery is necessary, such as with a fracture or traumatic injury, he walks patients through exactly what to expect: the procedure itself, the recovery ahead, and any potential complications or lifestyle changes along the way.

He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and has published and presented research on foot and ankle surgical outcomes.
